Ruth Ann Olson, a resident of New Mexico and Arizona since 1959, has spent much of her adult life collecting fine art for her personal enjoyment. After her retirement from the field of high technology, she followed a life-long dream of becoming involved with art herself. She set out to learn the artistry and skills of chip carving with the goal of creating unique, custom-designed picture frames. The result of this effort is a wide range of designs and profiles that compliment the art and add distinctiveness to each framed piece. While Ruth Ann offers a series of designs for standard frame sizes, she specializes in commissioned work. This allows her, the artist, owner, and/or framing specialists to collectively create a total work with all elements blending together that best presents the artwork being framed.
